Lithium intoxication

This topic was briefly discussed in a post at Renal Fellow Network. The principal question in management is often when to resort to emergency dialysis. The answer is generally sooner rather than later, particularly in chronic or acute on chronic toxicity. Ultimately the nephrologists will need to make that decision, and it's wise to get them involved early.

It bears mention that there is a syndrome of irreversible neurotoxicity.
